Mrs. Toohey has been working in education for over 22 years. Aside from teaching Kindergarten and Second Grade, she has also worked as an Elementary School Counselor in the Upper Perkiomen School District and Souderton Area School District. Mrs. Toohey spent some time away from the school/classroom setting to work as a Case Manager for Big Brothers Big Sisters before returning to teaching. She has been teaching Second Grade in the Diocese of Allentown since 2016. Mrs. Toohey has called Our Lady’s second-grade classroom her home away from home since 2019.

Mrs. Toohey received a Bachelor of Science in Elementary and Early Childhood Education from East Stroudsburg University. She also received a Master of Science in Counseling and Human Relations from Villanova University. Mrs. Toohey worked as an Internal Coordinator in the Middle States during our school accreditation, and she is The Language Arts Coordinator for the primary grade levels at Our Lady.

As a Second Grade teacher, she loves sharing her faith with her students, as many prepare to receive their sacraments. She is proud to see her students (and past students) at Mass on Sundays. She and her family have been members of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish since 2004. Mrs. Toohey is a proud parent of two daughters who attended Our Lady. They continued their Catholic education at Bethlehem Catholic High School. She describes Our Lady as family, and she still sees the same close-knit family atmosphere almost two decades later.

Her family enjoys vacationing together and time at the beach. She enjoys long walks, gardening, dinner with friends, and exercising. She also loves sunflowers!
